Best Swords, Swordmanship level
Hello,
What level do you have to be in swordsmanship to use the best swords in the game? I have heard of a dragon sword. Is there a vampiric sword? thanks |

The better swords in the game will have a req of 8+. You can get lifestealing swords aswell, but the generally steal life on hit, but also make you lose 1 pip of regen.

i think he wanted to know what the max requirement would be for a sword. I don't know the answer but would guess either 11 or 12.

13 Is the max I've had on a rare sword. But I also have maxed out swords with only 9.

When you say you've had a maxed out sword with only lvl 9 requirement, does that mean there is some damage max and that low requirement sword reached it? I am having a hard time reasoning why a lvl 9 sword should compete with a lvl 13 requirement one. Is there some other characteristic that makes the lvl 13 one better? Thanks for the future replys

there is a max damage on swords, 15-22 i believe...so the sword would read something like
15-22 (req. 9 swordsmanship) ive seen an 7 that is 15-21 and the extra attributes arent affected by the levels, so the lvl 13 req. sword will probably just be more expencive (or cheaper...im only lvl 15 in the wilds and dont have a max sword yet) |

For instance, I have an Ebon Butterfly Sword of Shelter, 15-22 damage, damage +11%, and armor +6, and it requires a swordsmanship skill of 9. At the same time, I've seen swords far, far worse than this require a 10, but I've yet to see one better require anything less (I'm sure it exists)
Oh, and are you sure that your sword required a skill of 13? That seems extremely improbable, as that would mean you would be required to have a rune, or headpiece in swordsmanship, and it seems like they would have the game so it capped a weapon's necessities at a maximum of 12. |

i have a sword that is 15-22 dmg +13% damage, energy +1 on hit -1 energy regen, double ad. on hit (chance 8%) and its only req 9. i have seen 13 but the sword itself wasnt that good. i have some rare fiery dragon swords and they have like a 8-9 req. you can always respec so id suggest doin 13 sword anyway because it adds a lot to the dmg

If all stats are the same is a lower requirement weapon better than a higher requirement one. Provided that you have the stats necessary for the higher one. This means is there some sort of bonus for having over the necessary requirements for a weapon. (i'm not talking about an increased critical chance either)

I have noticed that some weapons are worse and have a higher requirement than better weapons.

Also, you can use a sword with lower stats just not to the full capability. For example, many people started off complaing about the pre-order items. They were actually better than "starter" items even with the mis matched requirements needed.

Where do you find all the good swords
I'm currently lev 14 at Yaks Bend and using a rather aged (aka crappy) sword at the moment. Anyone know where I can hut down a high damage sword? I currently have a 7 in swords, so I imagine if I can find a good weapon I should have the skill to use it. Thanks all.

I found a rare (gold) 15-22 brute sword that requires 11 Swordsmanship. It dropped near the falls (can't remember the name of the town. It's just after you encounter the Shining Blade.)
I'm only level 16, so I had to totally restat to fully utilize it, but it was well worth it. |
